Come Join Troop 13 Montclair!



Troop 13 is holding a New Scout Open House Monday, September 20th, 2021, at Union Congregational church, 176 Cooper Ave., Montclair. Learn about all Troop 13 has to offer. Camp outside every month. Explore nature. Have fun and experience the camaraderie of a boy-led troop. Master outdoor skills, and learn practical life skills. Train to be a leader. Do service projects that benefit your community. Earn Merit Badges in 135 areas of interest. Pursue the path to Eagle Scout.


This special informational meeting is open to all prospective scouts and parents at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Ave., Montclair (Please wear a mask). Our troop, the oldest in Montclair, is open to all boys, 6th grade and up—you don't have to be a member of the church to join. We meet most Monday nights at 7 pm except for school holidays. We go on camping trips every month, rain or shine. In summer we go to camp for a week in the Catskills, or on high adventure treks. COME JOIN US! Boy Scout Troop 13 Montclair meets Monday nights during the school year at 7 pm on the lawn, weather permitting, at Union Congregational, 176 Cooper Ave., Montclair. If weather is uncooperative, we meet on the porch or in the church's basement scout room. The troop is open to all boys age 11 or older. You don't have to be a member of the church, or any church, to join. We go camping every month, rain or shine, and we have lots of adventures! Does your son love to camp, hike, backpack, swim, canoe, fish—or does he want to learn more about doing those things? About Troop 13

Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 13 from Montclair, New Jersey! Troop 13 was founded in 1911, and has been operating continuously for more than 100 years. The troop meets every week at Union Congregational Church in Upper Montclair, but is open to all boys age 11 and up—you do not need to be a member of the church. We are a very active troop, with about 50 boys participating currently in all ranks in the troop, from Scout to Eagle, and a dedicated, involved group of parents. We take part in all sorts of fun and exciting activities. The troop goes camping every month—rain, snow or sunshine! We also go hiking, skiing, canoeing, work on leadership skills, participate in Merit Badge Fairs and do many community service projects.

We meet every Monday (except for school holidays) at 7 p.m.,on the lawn or on the porch or in the basement (depending on the weather) at Union Cong, 176 Cooper Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07043.
